Show treats

Mits by SLO, the warmest softest glows I have ever had.
Maple Syrup Jug for the upcoming syrup season

I love the show myself, and have resisted many temptations.

Food preservation madness

This is picture of my dear grandmothers basement. She is 92 now, and can not leave fallen apple on a ground, it all has to be preserved, saved, because later it will be handy. You can bet on it. I have taken the above picture last year. Some of the jars are dated early fifties. Not kidding. The need to save food for later certainly runs in my vains, although I hope to eat all of this by next spring. All my jars are from this year. We did have a great harvest.

How do you do it all?

Is the second  most frequently asked question I get all the time. (Why is it so expensive? is the first one) Let me tell you, it is all just awful lot of work, constantly, always. One answer to both questions.  The glass, the garden, the house the renos, cooking, cleaning, you name it. This is not a complain, I love what I do, but it is a lot. Every few months I fall into despair and turn to Netflix and chocolate for help. That is a secret.

Potatoes

I am hoping we are going to be potato sufficient this winter. This is probably the most amazing harvest we have ever had. Spring will show if my estimate was accurate.

Project of the whole summer

I really wanted to paint those old beat up stairs. Than I thought well, I should probably patch all those holes. Got cement and went to work. Did you know newly set cement is not to be painted for over 30 days? I did not. What a bummer, of course something that is suppose to take couple of days will now stretch over several months. After that long wait I finally got to paint. Could not be happier with the results.
